I Deserve It

Speaker
Andrey Polishchuk

How often do you get irritated? We are easily triggered, we take offence at injustice and demand what we feel is «owed to us». But this very irritation quietly steals our peace and God's blessings.

In this message pastor Andrey Polishchuk unpacks three biblical stories about people who forgot how to be grateful. Why did the Israelites complain about manna from heaven while remembering the cucumbers of Egypt? Why did the older son resent his father over a forgiven brother? And how can God's generosity to others expose the envy in our own hearts?

You will discover how not to become a «flawless but offended» Christian, and why it is vital for us to build an «infrastructure of memory».

Key thoughts:

«When we live inside a miracle every day, we get used to it and start to complain. We stop noticing God's provision while remembering the cucumbers of Egypt».

«Do not let envy spoil your heart when God in His mercy blesses someone else. Rejoice for others, so that your discontent does not send you to the back of the queue».

«The older brother had never gone anywhere, yet he lived with a distorted heart. We can live in the fullness of God's inheritance and still feel like poor wage-earning servants».

«Build yourself an "infrastructure of memory". Make notches and monuments so you do not forget how God brought you out of your wilderness and what miracles He worked».
